1. Classification by Fixing Device Type
Thermocouples are widely used as a primary temperature measurement method, thus requiring various types of fixing devices and technical performance. Therefore, thermocouple fixing devices are classified into six types: no fixing device type, threaded type, fixed flange type, movable flange type, movable flange angle bracket type, and tapered protective tube type.
2. Classification by Assembly and Structure
Based on the performance and structure of thermocouples, they can be classified into: detachable thermocouples, explosion-proof thermocouples, armored thermocouples, and spring-loaded fixed thermocouples, as well as other special-purpose thermocouples.
Advantages
1. High measurement accuracy. Because it is in direct contact with the object being measured, it is not affected by the intermediate medium.
2. Wide measurement range. Commonly used thermocouples can continuously measure temperatures from -50°C to 1600°C, and some special thermocouples can measure as low as -269°C (such as gold-iron-nickel-chromium) and as high as 2800°C (such as tungsten-rhenium).
3. Simple structure and convenient to use. Thermocouples are usually composed of two different metal wires and are not limited by size or shape. They have a protective sheath, making them very convenient to use.
