Tungsten Cobalt Alloy Thermowell

Tungsten Cobalt Alloy Thermowell

Details
We produce this tungsten cobalt alloy thermowell for the most severe erosion conditions in industrial plants. Tungsten cobalt alloy is also known as tungsten steel. It uses tungsten carbide (WC) as the hard phase and cobalt (Co) as the binding phase. This product gives you ceramic-level hardness above HRA 88. It also keeps the toughness of metal.

The Toughest Solution for Extreme Wear

product-800-3445

We produce this tungsten cobalt alloy thermowell for the most severe erosion conditions in industrial plants. Tungsten cobalt alloy is also known as tungsten steel. It uses tungsten carbide (WC) as the hard phase and cobalt (Co) as the binding phase. This product gives you ceramic-level hardness above HRA 88. It also keeps the toughness of metal. This means it resists wear better than any metal thermowell. It also handles impacts and vibrations without breaking like ceramic tubes do. We machine this product from solid bar stock. We can make it with thick walls for high pressure and wear resistance in one piece. In circulating fluidized bed power plant boilers, standard stainless steel wears through in just 1 to 3 months. This product lasts 10 to 50 times longer.

Where This Thermowell Outperforms All Others

This tungsten cobalt alloy thermowell is the top choice for high-wear zones in heavy industries. In CFB power plant boilers, we install it in dense-phase zones, cyclone separators, return valves, and slag coolers. The media here is high-speed coal powder, ash particles, and flue gas with SO₂ and H₂S. This product handles these conditions better than any other material. In cement and building materials plants, we use it in rotary kilns, precalciners, grate coolers, and clinker pipes. Hard particles keep flowing at high speed. This product solves the problem of ceramic tubes breaking and high-chromium iron wearing out too fast. In coal chemical plants, pulverized coal gasification units, and waste incinerators, this product resists erosion from fly ash and catalyst particles. In mining, powder processing, and refractory kilns, it handles hard mineral powder and refractory aggregate wear.

Know the Limits of This Material

This tungsten cobalt alloy thermowell has clear performance boundaries you must know. The maximum continuous temperature in air is 1100℃. Above this temperature, the cobalt phase oxidizes and the material starts to powder. This product does not resist strong acids, strong alkalis, or chloride-containing media. The cobalt binder corrodes and peels off under these conditions. For long-term molten aluminum immersion, this product is not suitable. Aluminum reacts with the cobalt phase and causes slag sticking. For that application, we recommend our silicon nitride thermowell instead. So this product focuses on strong particle erosion in neutral or mildly corrosive dry dust conditions. It works alongside silicon nitride (for molten aluminum) and silicon carbide (for high-temperature corrosion). Each material serves a specific purpose.

Custom Services and Safe Delivery

We custom-make this tungsten cobalt alloy thermowell in various outer diameters, inner diameters, lengths, and tapered thickened head designs. We match your pipe size and insertion depth precisely. Mounting options include thread, flange, and weld base. For high-pressure gas lines with particles, we offer a combined wear-resistant and pressure-resistant one-piece structure. Custom product samples take 10 to 25 days. We have flexible minimum order quantities and complete OEM/ODM services. Each product gets bubble wrap and carton or wooden case packaging to prevent impact damage during shipping. Every product comes with a material certificate and hardness test report. We support EXW, FOB, and DDP trade terms. We accept USD, EUR, and other major currencies. Payment is 30% deposit and 70% before shipping. Normal delivery takes 10 to 25 days. We send you photos and videos before shipping for final confirmation.
